Who is leading the efforts?

The Village of Plainfield has created an Advisory Task Force on Economic Development for the purpose of encouraging industrial development, commercial, business, retail, and other supporting services which will provide job opportunities, broaden the tax base, and improve the quality of life in Plainfield.

The mission of the task force is to assist and advise the Village Board in the review and implementation of economic development efforts in Plainfield.

The task force is charged with providing advice to the President and Village Board on economic development matters in order to ensure the preservation of the Village's quality of life and economic vitality for the benefit of its residents and businesses, across five key cross-functions:

• Recruitment and Retention;
• Infrastructure, Transportation, and Communications;
• Workforce and Education;
• Land Use; and
• Quality of Life
